Horror stills task

This is the horror stills task we had to do. Where we first learnt all the different shots we had to do.
We had to use all the shots and make a story board with each picture involving one of the shots, for example:
1. Establishing shot.
2.Close up
3.Extreme close up.
4.Mid shot
5.Long shot
6.Canted shot
7.Point of view
8.Over the shoulder
9.High angle
10.Low angle.
I found this task quite easy when it come to taking the photos, the actors were Luke and Tenda and me and Bea arranged the shots and took them, I think the reason we were happy with this task was because it was our second time using final cut and when we took the pictures we were the first ones to leave and then the first ones to come back because we got on with it straight away.

Final video

This is my final bomb video.
It involves the meeting, phone call and action sequence video and then put together as the master.
We created a new tab called master and edited all the videos together.
And then we all edited different effects in so each of them looked more unique.
For example, my own ident at the beginning so people watching it would know its my own edited version of the video.
And with my action sequence we all edited music into it so it wasn't as boring just watching me go from one place to the other in silence. I also used the same music for the end credits so people knew it was my own and got to recognize the music. At the end of the video we used special effects to edit fire from the bomb blowing up the college. Blowing up the college was probably the hardest part for me because i still wasn't used to editing on final cut and especially when it come to trying to make it look realistic.

Ident

This is the ident clip we had to do to put into the beginning of the videos we make so that it looks more professional and so that we have our own logo each.
When we made these we learnt how to put motions into videos and edit symbols etc to make them get smaller and bigger for example.
We also learnt how to edit soundtracks into the video properly and to make it fit with the movement of the ident.
I enjoyed making the ident because it was my first time using photoshop with ident properly, and doing my own thing with it, and putting something i like in it, the butterfly for example, and the colour pink.

The meeting

The meeting was the second sequence we recorded, It was the next one connecting from the phone call sequence.
It involved Luke and Tenda talking about the bomb and then Tenda giving Luke the bomb towards the end.
We did 12 different shots involving an over shoulder shot to make the convosation fit more.
We also had to use the 180 degree rule where the camera had to be in a certain position and angle to record in e.g Tenda would have been recorded from the right and then Luke would have been recorded from the left.

Finding the bomb

This is the final sequence we did finding the bomb. This is where the actors changed to me and Bea.
In the sequence there was a phone call between both of us.
Bea was the agent who was telling me where to go to find the bomb and cut the wire so that it didn't blow up the college.
During the sequence we did 18 shots alot involving alot of mid shots because we had to put a lot of action into most shots, like walking and getting in more background.

There was three different scenes in the classroom, outside and in the corridor.
The reason we had to use a corridor and outside was because we had to film my journey going to get the bomb, but when i find the bomb i cut the wrong wire and then the college blows up.

Phone Call

This is the phonecall sequence which was the first sequence we did, We had to think of 3 different locations to do all of the 18 shots.
This video is about Tenda and Luke having a phonecall planning on bombing the college, Tenda is the agent telling Luke to come meet him and then when he does he gives him the bomb.
The three different locations that we used were in the C block for the first one of Tenda calling Luke, because having the shots of Tenda outside and Luke on the inside it made it better because the surrondings wernt too simular and it wouldn't be as confusing.
The second shots of Lukes replies to the phonecall was outside behind G Block against the wall, because it was quiet outside at that time and it just seemed a lot better to change the back grounds.
The final shots were in the G block corridor because we had to film Luke walking down the corridor and then opening the classroom door to go to the meeting.

New York final cut training

2P1 Alice - NEW YORK FINAL CUT EDITING TRAINING from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

To do this exercise we had to go onto final cut and edit videos into the video bar, then we used the blender to make the videos fit into each other more, After that we used video edits to make the video look less boring and better to watch, but mainly just to get an understanding of how to edit videos, Then we went into garageband and made a short song which we then edited into the video to make it more interesting to watch.

Target audience

This is an exercise to let others know what they would use to get our attention if they wanted to target us, we collected images for what would represent us as a person. Target audiences are used for marketing a media product or brand because if its a certain product, for example alcohol or smoking its aimed at people over the age of 18 even though younger people do it, Also for things like twitter, its a social networking site used by mainly teenagers all over the world but also some adults do have it too, so its aimed at all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons e.g talking to friends, using it as a type of blog or even for business purposes.
For things like clothing shops, Topshop is aimed at girls who like to keep up with trends where as Topman is for boys who like to keep up with trends, Topshop is a more posh, smart but fashionable shop as appose to River Island which is also fashionable but is the more of the trendy grebbish look which is in all the magazines at the moment.

Find your tribe

This is another test we did to 'find our tribe' where you answer some questions and it pretty much tells you your stereotype, But i don't agree with the answer because i don't think I'm a 'bligger' because i don't fit into any stereotyped group e.g emo, indie etc because i like a mix of everything.

Are you normal?

This is a test that we did to find out whether we are normal or not, they asked really random questions which creeped me out a bit. I do agree with the answer i got because it described pretty much what Im like, although it claims Im normal and i don't think i am.

Brushes and Fonts

This is the brushes exercise we did, I downloaded some brushes off the internet and then went on photoshop to do three different brush types.

And we also did the same sort of thing with fonts, we downloaded fonts off the internet and then did different examples of some to see which one we liked most and i used the top one for my logo.

Earth and eye exercise

This is the first task we did on photoshop, to help us get used to it and understand how to use it a bit, we had to get two pictures and cut out the background on the earth one of them then add it to the eye, to make it look like a contact lense.
I found this exercise quite easy because it was simple and it had been demonstrated a bit before, even though i've never used photoshop before.

Club Flyer

I named my club flyer Headlights because its the name of one of Drakes songs and sounded as if it would suite a night club. The reason i based my club around Drake is because he's one of the top Hip Hop/Rap artists around at the moment so if it was a real club it would attract a lot of customers.
During the lesson of making my flyer i edited a DJ into the background to make it look like the night club and then edited Drake into the front more and blurred the background a bit to make it fix into it more, I also edited a purple outline round Drake because the scene in the background has a lot of bright lights so it made Drake fit into it better.
I did the fonts white because it was the only colour that suited the flyer properly because black wasn't as clear to read and made it look dull.

Media Logo

This is my media logo, I downloaded this font because it was patterned and i liked it.
I used a butterfly because it was the only girly looking symbol there was which i wanted to use,
Even though it is plain, i used a crown to make it look less boring and i used a mix of different colours so it looked brighter.
